TEACHING
Throughout my career, I have always taught. Teaching is a passion. I believe that I will always do that.
In 2017, after more than 10 years working as a music teacher, my master's research became my first book. It is a long book that reflects my extensive research about drumsticks technique from the perspective of Samba. It is a complex work, that deals with profound technique, rhythm and idiomatic issues of Brazilian music.
A significant part of my work as a teacher are classes of Brazilian Percussion Ensemble. In 2014 I started a new challenge: bring the Brazilian percussion to an elementary school, placed in a favela in Santa Barbara d'Oeste, state of São Paulo. That was one of the greatest challenges I have faced as a teacher. Later, that project was recorded in a documentary and won the 2016 Cultural Outreach Award, granted by the City Hall of SBO.
In 2014 and 2015 I traveled to France and Italy, where I participated in music festivals and clinics about the Brazilian percussion.
